Kendrick Lamar | GNX (Album Review)

Kendrick Lamar | GNX (Album Review)

Kendrick is in scintillating form in this album, he’s oozing with creativity, new flows, ideas and concepts. His energy is electrifying to the point that his opposition needs to move back. They simply can’t compete, their music lacks this level of integrity and intensity. He checks Wayne and Snoop on ‘Wacced Out Murals’, ‘Reincarnated’ is simply sublime, ‘Man in the Garden’ is affirmative and there’s too much west coast melodic vibes to pick one song out. Sza is seamlessly complimentary and all of his west coast features make their presence known without interrupting the energy. This is not an album, this is an energy transaction of power and empowerment. The ‘Heart part 6’ is victorious, reinstating the original narrative and truth of the TDE journey. GNX is menacing. ‘Gloria’ is metaphorically Glorious as it conceptually ends a thread of Kendrick addressing all rumours about relationships and friendships deriving from his recent battles at the same time glorifying his pen.
